Ideate is the first stage of the Arrington Method’s model and it is a very important element of ensuring vision success.
Ideation is the act of unleashing all the amazing ideas that you have regarding your vision, in a way that exposes every detail you have considered.
Deciding to have an Envision session means you are serious about moving forward with your vision and you are ready to learn everything there is to know about your vision. Whether you are a solo act, or you have a team of support, we have some tips to help you get the most out of your envision Session.
10 Steps to Greatness:
Select a day and time for your session when you can offer your vision your undivided attention
Select a space/location that invites you to immerse in comfort and minimize distractions
Set goals for the session, by identifying what you hope to achieve by the end of the session.
A solid agenda is key to making sure you stay on task:
Welcome
Idea Background and Overview
Review the goals and consider what exercises will help you meet each goal. We recommend doing more than one exercise.
Launch session
Exercises (Our Envision session outline offers great tools for ideation)
When selecting exercises, allow enough time so each exercise receives the attention it deserves
Wrap-up
Thanks – Give thanks to participants offering a small memorable gift that helps keep your vision fresh in their mind
Review set goals with all participants, prior to starting the session
Work through the agenda, leaving open opportunities for innovation, questions, doubts and new ideas
Take breaks when needed and don’t force participation
Use audio, visual and text to document all components of the session for later reference
Consider if a follow-up session would be helpful to further work through ideas
Take time to allow all information reviewed to sink in
There is no perfect approach to an envision session, but there are ways that you can prepare to ensure you get the most out of every minute of the session. The more sessions you conduct the better you become at managing time, inviting the right participants and executing key exercises.
Good luck and happy envisioning!
